Exit Cost

Privacy

This site is a few hundred static files. It has no accounts, no tracking and no adverts, and the short version is that we do not collect anything about you.

What the website collects

Nothing that identifies you. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no advertising and no analytics or tracking scripts of any kind. We do not set cookies.

Two settings are remembered in your own browser using local storage: the hourly rate and the team size you set on a comparison. They never leave your device, are never sent to us, and we cannot read them. Clearing your browser data removes them.

The typefaces are served from this site rather than a font service, so loading a page makes no request to any third party. That seemed the least we could do given who reads this.

What the host records

The site is served by GitHub Pages. Like any web server, GitHub records requests — including IP addresses — in its own logs, which we do not control and do not have access to. Their handling is described in the GitHub Privacy Statement.

Links to other companies

Some links to hosting providers are referral links, disclosed at the foot of every page. Following one takes you to that company's site, where their own privacy policy applies and where they will typically set a cookie recording that you arrived from here. We receive no personal information about you from them — only aggregate counts of clicks and sign-ups. If you would rather not be counted, the same providers are reachable by typing their address directly, and the comparison reads identically either way.

The Exit Cost publishing app

We operate a small application that uploads our own videos to our own YouTube channel using the YouTube Data API. It exists solely to publish the comparisons on this site.

Exit Cost's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Children

This site is about business software costs and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age.

Changes, and how to reach us

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and the history of every edit is public in the repository — there is no version of this page you cannot check.

Questions, or a request about data: open an issue. There is no mailing list to leave, because there is no mailing list.
